Fostering Assessment and Recruitment Team and the Support and Supervision Team
Senior Social Worker
£29.93 per hour +
Our Client in the Stoke (Area) is looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker for the Fostering Assessment and Recruitment Team and the Support and Supervision Team
These are new roles following agreement to expand the service as we have increased numbers of connected persons foster carers and SGO Assessments alongside a success in increasing General Foster Carers.
You will be joining a hardworking, friendly, professional and welcoming team who are keen to provide a high standard of service and support to our foster carers, children and young people in care.
We have roles in in both the Assessment and Recruitment Team and the Support and Supervision Teams.
Assessment SW – Assessments of Connected Carers (or family and friends) Suitability and full assessment and General /Mainstream Foster Carer Assessments.
Recruitment Activity, training and participation in duty and team meetings.
Supervision and Support Fostering SW – provision of supervision and support to foster carers, undertake foster home reviews, placement planning, support and review meetings, Cause of Concern and LADO referrals, attend and facilitate foster carers Support Groups, participation in training, duty and team meetings.
SWs will be valued member of the team and have access to training supervision and PDR, training and on-going professional development
To ensure that eligible children receive assessments, plans and service packages appropriate to meet their needs and improve their life chances.
To ensure that the welfare of the child or young person is paramount at all times.
To carry out assessments and care manage child care plans within government and departmental prescribed timescales and standards, as required by the Practice / or Principal Manager.
To ensure that children, young people and their families are fully involved in the process of assessment and care management.
To ensure that service user records are maintained in accordance with Departmental procedures, and that information required for management purposes is recorded and inputted appropriately.
To ensure that the department’s and authority’s resources are deployed efficiently and effectively at all times.
To be responsible for the allocation of appropriate tasks to Social Work Assistants, and to provide the necessary support and guidance for the completion of those tasks.
To take personal responsibility for continuing professional development including modules of the specialist Post Qualifying Specialist Childcare Award, and for achieving and maintaining the required level of performance for the post.
To be responsible for effective time management and responding flexibly to the needs of the service.
To provide support and cover for other staff as required by the Practice and / or Principal Manager.
To actively participate in the performance management system including supervision, PDR, team meetings, section and divisional briefings and reviews of service.
To ensure that departmental health and safety procedures and standards are followed in the performance of all duties.
To have Commitment to developing skills through work experience in a range of divisional situations i.e. routine secondments, job rotation and shadowing.
To be responsible for contributing to information management processes in the department.
To take responsibility under the direction of the Principal or Practice Manager for the support of social work students on placement and act as workplace supervisor or Practice Teacher if appropriately trained.
