We are currently recruiting for a Head of Computer Science to join a successful team at an Academy within the North West London area- Brent Borough, the academy is committed to ensuring that pupils obtain an excellent education and that all staff are led by committed and supportive leadership members and this was shown in a recent OFSTED inspection where leadership team was graded outstanding.

As Head of Department, you will lead, develop and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding curriculum which enables the highest level of student progress and attainment in Computer Science. You will drive our ambition to become a digitally literate school.
Your key responsibilities will be to manage departmental budget, resources and learning environment. You will lead behaviour management in the department making sure there are strong routines and consistency as well as follow ups. In this job you will be accountable for student progress in Computer Science and Digital Literacy across the school at all key stages, ensuring that all students achieve results in line with, or better than, value-added predictions and lead by example as a Teacher and Leader.
You will monitoring of the department and individuals within the team is vital and you will liaise with other department heads on a regular basis to ensure the curriculum and learning goals are met. You will keep up to date with any changes in learning and teaching related to Computer Science DfE guidelines and assess appropriately.
Have experience as Head of Computer Science ideally following AQA, Degree within Computer Science and qualified teaching status, experience raising attainment, experience developing others and improving the quality of teaching. Develop the schemes of work and resources, have a track record for leading successful enrichment which inspire and motivate learners
